Terms of service

1. Who we are

These terms apply to lessons booked through starstuffacademy.com. The service is provided by:

In these terms, "I" or "me" means the service provider, and "you" means the person booking the lesson.

2. The service

I provide live, one-to-one online lessons in astronomy, astrophysics, physics and Python for astronomy, by video call. A lesson is the live session itself; notes and practice problems I share afterwards are included at no extra cost.

3. Booking and payment

• You book through the booking system linked on this site and pay in full at the time of booking.
• Current prices: trial lesson (30 min) €10; single lesson (60 min) €30; 5-lesson pack €135; 10-lesson pack €255.
• Prices are in euros (EUR) and include any applicable taxes.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card details.
• The trial lesson is limited to one per student.
• The contract is concluded when your booking is confirmed by email.

4. Rescheduling and cancellation

• You can reschedule or cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the lesson starts.
• Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the start, and lessons you miss without cancelling, are charged in full.
• If I cancel a lesson, you can choose to reschedule it or receive a full refund.
• If a lesson is disrupted by a technical problem on my side, I will offer a replacement session or a proportional refund.

5. Lesson packs

• The 5-lesson pack is valid for 3 months, and the 10-lesson pack for 5 months, from the date of purchase.
• Packs are personal and cannot be transferred to another student.
• On request during the validity period, unused lessons are refunded pro rata: the pack price divided by the number of lessons in the pack, multiplied by the number of unused lessons.
• The cancellation rules in section 4 apply to each lesson booked from a pack.

6. Your right of withdrawal (consumers)

If you are a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the contract is concluded.

If you expressly ask for a lesson to take place within the 14-day period, and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, then your right of withdrawal ends when that lesson has been delivered. If you withdraw after a service has started but before it is fully performed (for example, part of a lesson pack), you pay a proportionate amount for what was provided up to the moment you told me you were withdrawing.

To withdraw, tell me by a clear statement — for example, an email to team@starstuffacademy.com. You can use the model form below, but you don't have to. I will refund all payments due without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving your notice, using the same payment method you used, unless we agree otherwise.

7. Students under 18

If the student is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must make the booking and accept these terms on the student's behalf. A parent or guardian may attend the lesson.

8. Academic integrity

I teach concepts, methods and problem-solving. I don't complete graded assignments, exams or theses on anyone's behalf. I may decline or end a lesson if I am asked to do so.

9. Conduct and recording

• Both of us will treat each other with respect. I may end a lesson in the case of abusive behaviour; it will be charged.
• Lessons are recorded only if both of us agree in advance. Either of us may withdraw that consent.
• Materials I share are for your personal learning. Please don't redistribute them without permission.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, my liability in connection with a lesson is limited to the price you paid for the affected lesson. I do not guarantee particular exam or competition results. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Polish law. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence. Please contact me first if something goes wrong — most problems can be solved quickly. EU consumers may also contact their local consumer protection body or European Consumer Centre.

12. Changes

I may update these terms. The version in force at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
