Learn the universe you're made of.

Astronomy and astrophysics lessons from a working researcher — for olympiad students, exam students, university students and curious minds.

A planet transiting its star Top: a planet crosses in front of a limb-darkened star. Bottom: the star's measured brightness dips while the planet is in front of it. brightness time depth ≈ (Rp/R★)²
When a planet crosses its star, the starlight dips by about the planet-to-star area ratio. Try it in the transit simulator.

How it works

  1. Book a 30-minute trial

Pick a time that suits you. You pay €20 when you book.

  2. We set clear goals

Where you are, where you want to be, and a plan to get there.

  3. Weekly lessons

Live simulations, practice problems and a notes summary after every lesson.

Your teacher

I'm Sohaib Ali, a PhD researcher who models the atmospheres of planets around other stars. I teach the way I learned: from first principles, with real data.

Questions

What does the €20 trial include?

The trial is a 30-minute lesson. We talk about where you are and where you want to get to, set clear goals, and then I teach a short segment so you can see how I explain things. There is one trial per student.

Which levels do you teach?

Four levels: Foundations (beginners, younger students and enthusiasts), Intermediate (school physics students), Advanced (strong school students and first-year university), and Olympiad & university (olympiad candidates and astrophysics courses, including Python for astronomy).

How do online lessons work?

Lessons are live video calls. We work on a shared online whiteboard, use the interactive simulations on this site to see the physics move, and solve problems together. After each lesson you get a short notes summary and a few practice problems.
